Freeze Drying Indicator is solution prepared from Lyophilization Reagent (2X) Concentrate and colorimetric indicator.  The indicator is red when hydrated and blue when dry.  It is used to monitor the process of freeze drying by simple observation.  The solution can be used as a stand alone indicator for mapping and validating freeze dryers, or when mixed with sample, as a tool for monitoring actual lyophilization runs. 

Freeze Drying Indicator is provided as a 2X concentrate, like the Lyophilization Reagent, which is mixed with an equal volume of sample.  Sample with indicator is run along with samples mixed with Lyophilization Reagent so to monitor the process.  When the indicator sample turns blue, the water content is less than 2%.  Freeze Drying Indicator must be considered a destructive assay and samples mixed with the indicator should be discarded.  Freeze Drying Indicator is filter sterilized and supplied in 500 ml bottles.
