The Grinding Ball and Bead Dispenser is a convenient tool for dropping 5/32" grinding balls and 50 μl of small grinding beads into 96 well plates.  Each well in the dispenser can  hold one 5/32" grinding ball or 50 μl of small grinding beads or chromatography resin.  To dispense grinding balls, the dispenser is held right side up and balls are poured on its surface.  Shaking the dispenser gently causes a single ball to fall into a well.  Excess balls are poured into a reservoir (provided).  An orange plastic sheet slides in groves and covers the balls.  The filled dispenser is then placed over a plate and the sheet is removed which causes the balls to fall into the wells.  Balls can also be dropped into selected wells by partially removing the sheet or selectively filling the dropper. 

For grinding beads, the dispenser is filled with beads (right side up), excess beads are brushed away (brush provided), the plate is placed over the filled dispenser, and then holding firmly, the plate and dispenser are flipped over to drop the beads.
